Templates in PatentPublish help you maintain consistency across multiple patent applications.

What Templates Include

  • Inventor Information: Pre-filled inventor details
  • Assignee Details: Company name and address
  • Formatting Preferences: USPTO, EPO, or WIPO style
  • Default Sections: Which sections to include

Using a Template

  • Open a patent
  • Click Template Selector in the sidebar
  • Choose from available templates
  • Template data fills into metadata fields
  • Creating Templates

    From Existing Patent

  • Complete metadata for a patent
  • Click "Save as Template"
  • Name your template
  • Template is saved for future use
  • Manual Creation

  • Go to AccountTemplates
  • Click "New Template"
  • Fill in default values
  • Save template
  • Metadata Templates

    Separate from full templates, metadata templates store:

    • Applicant information
    • Assignee details
    • Inventor list

    Great for law firms with multiple clients.

    Template Best Practices

  • One Per Client: Create client-specific templates
  • Update Regularly: Keep addresses current
  • Naming Convention: Use clear names like "ClientA_USPTO"
